HISTORIC MISSISSIPPI BUSINESS ASSOCIATION SPRING GREENING
The sun is shining and spring is in the air. Let’s use this opportunity to clean out and give back. The HMBA is planning a Spring Greening Day on Saturday April 18, 2009, 11:00 am- 7:00 pm.
This event is free to the public. Be a part of a great family fun filled day. Stores will be hosting their own blow out sales along with activities such as cloth swaps, demonstrations on reusing recyclable products, cooking demonstrations, face painting, live music and more. There are designated stores that will be recycling cell phones as well as a dumpster to recycle your electronics and demonstrations on sustainability and keeping our earth “green”
Stop by our stores and have your postcard stamped to enter drawing for ultimate shopping and dining spree's. Don't miss out on theevents and entertainment for the day:
Storewide sales at ChapterFour, Gypsy-Chic, Amalee Boutique,Pin Me and more. Vintage Real Estate will be giving out wildflower seed packets along with a kiosk of "green" homes, Por Que No is offering happy hour prices for those that walk or ride their bike that day, Blue Sky Wellness is having a clothing swap and recycling cell phones, Grand Central Bakery is offering free cookies with every purchase, Black Wagon is hosting two trunk shows featuring Baby Star and Pixel Organics along with cardboard box transformation project with the help of donated items from SCRAP. There are sidewalk sales at Flutter and Porch Light and Phlox. Bella Norte will have demonstrations on painting and Gumbo has a trunk sale featuring creative hats and purses styled by four different local artists from reclaimed materials and single use plastic bags. You can also drop off electronics to be recycled from Free Geek at Unthank Park from 9 to 1 (corner of N. Haight and N. Failing)
